Police have arrested and charged a Gagebrook man with drugs and firearms offences following the search of a residence on Wednesday.
Officers from Bridgewater CIB, with the support of uniformed officers from Bridgewater station, conducted the targeted search of a Gagebrook property.
Police allege quantities of methylamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis bud were found, plus an imitation Glock firearm and a large quantity of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition.
A 30-year-old man was charged with a series of offences including:
• Trafficking in a controlled substance
• Possessing a controlled drug
• Possessing a firearm when not the holder of a firearm licence of the appropriate category
• Possessing ammunition when not the holder of an appropriate firearms licence.
The man was bailed and is scheduled to reappear in Hobart Magistrates Court on 30 October.
In a separate matter, police have today (17 September) detained a 27-year-old man in custody following the search of a Bridgewater residence.
During the search, police allege they found a quantity of cannabis, methylamphetamine, a loaded .22 firearm and ammunition.
Investigations are continuing.
