Police lay charges after Malvern East firearms incident

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit have charged one man following a firearms incident in Malvern East on Friday.

It's alleged two men attended a fast-food outlet on Dandenong Road about 8pm and a verbal altercation has taken place between one of the men and a staff member.

The men left and were alleged to have pointed an imitation firearm at a vehicle in the carpark.

A 19-year-old Ashburton man and a 28-year-old Surrey Hills man were arrested nearby a short time later.

He was bailed to appear at the Moorabbin Justice Centre on 3 December 2021.

The 28-year-old was released without charge pending further enquiries.
