Police lay charges - Aggravated assault in Alice Springs 23 November

Northern Territory Police have arrested a woman in relation to an aggravated assault in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon.

Around 2:10pm, police received reports that a 63-year-old woman had assaulted a 46-year-old man on Stuart Terrace with a knife.

The man suffered a laceration to his left leg and was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital by St John Ambulance.

The 63-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. She has since been charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Possess, use, carry a controlled weapon

She is due to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.

Both the man and woman were known to each other.
