Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery - Nightcliff 24 April

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth following an aggravated robbery in Nightcliff yesterday.

Around 12:30am on Sunday morning, up to 6 youths armed with various weapons have unlawfully entered a residence on Chapman Road, Nightcliff. The offenders have allegedly threatened the male resident with a knife before stealing a number of items, punching him in the head and stealing a Subaru WRX from the location.

General duties police attended the scene initially and the vehicle was recovered abandoned a short time later in Malak.

At 11:50am the same day, Serious Crime Detectives arrested a 15-year-old male at a residence in Leanyer. He has since been charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful entry
  • Aggravated robbery
  • Deprivation of liberty
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle

He was remanded to appear in court on 2 May 2023.
