Police lay charges - Firearm Offences - Ludmilla

Northern Territory Police have charged a 29-year-old man following a firearms incident in Ludmilla on Friday 4 October, 2019.

Police received reports of shots fired at the location around 5:15am. The male allegedly pointed a shotgun at residents known to him before pointing it in the air and discharging a shot. The male then left the location in a car.

The vehicle was subsequently located in Malak. Police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device and apprehended the two occupants of the car, one of which was the 29-year-old man.

The man has been charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault a person
  • Discharge firearm to frighten
  • Possess firearm unlicenced
  • Damage to property
  • Drive medium range blood alcohol content
  • Drive under the influence of drugs.

He will appear in Darwin Local Court at a later date.
