Police lay charges - Firearm offences - Narrows

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to firearm and drug offences in The Narrows on Sunday night.

At around 11pm, police received reports of an altercation on Shiers Street.

A 57-year-old man had allegedly assaulted a 28-year-old man before threatening him and a 30-year-old man with a handgun.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested the 57-year-old without further incident. He was charged with:

  • 1 x Assault - threaten with firearm
  • 1 x Aggravated assault
  • 1 x Fail to meet storage requirements
  • 1 x Possess firearm unlicensed
  • 1 x Possess a schedule 2 drug - trafficable quantity

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
