Police lay drug trafficking charges at Gold Coast

Detectives from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad have charged a 26-year-old man for drug trafficking and supply offences on the Gold Coast as part of Operation Cyro.

The man and member of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) was issued with a Notice to Appear on Monday in relation to five counts of supplying dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine) and one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine). He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on November 14.

On October 20, a 53-year-old man, who is also a member of the Mongols OMCG, was charged with trafficking dangerous drugs as part of Operation Cyro.

The Queensland Police Service commenced Operation Cyro to investigate the trafficking of dangerous drugs identified on the ANØM platform during Operation Ironside.

Operation Ironside was an AFP and US Federal Bureau of Investigations investigation targeting organised crime, both domestically and internationally.
