Police make arrest after incident in library

Perth Detectives have charged a 47-year-old man after an incident yesterday (28/1) at a library located on Francis Street, Perth where a man was injured and conveyed to hospital.

It is alleged around 2.30pm, the charged man became involved in a verbal argument with the victim who is known to him, before he stabbed him to the stomach area and ran from the library.

A short time later police located the man in the Murray Street Mall and he was taken into custody.

The 54-year-old male victim was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent immediate surgery.

The 47-year-old man from Belmont is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 29 January 2021, on the offence of:-

• With Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm, Does Grievous Bodily Harm to Another.
