Police make arrest - Aggravated assault in Katherine 16 December

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man after an aggravated assault in Katherine this morning.

At 5:30am, police received reports that two men were allegedly assaulted with an edged weapon by a 51-year-old man at a property on the Victoria Highway, Katherine South.

All three men are believed to be known to each other.

Police and Paramedics attended with both victims being conveyed to Katherine Hospital in stable conditions.

A crime scene was declared and the alleged offender was arrested at the scene and is expected to be charged later today.

Detective Sergeant Byron May said "Investigations are in the early stages and police are urging anyone with information, who hasn't done so already, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 101204129."
