Police make arrest - Aggravated assault - Malak

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 22-year-old male in connection to an alleged aggravated assault that occurred in Malak last month.

At about 2:15pm on Wednesday 4 March 2020, the male allegedly entered a Malak residence and assaulted a 16-year-old girl before fleeing the location with stolen alcohol.

On Wednesday 8 April 2020, police arrested the male in Tennant Creek for an unrelated matter before identifying him in relation to the alleged aggravated assault. He has been charged with:

  • unlawful entry
  • damage to property
  • act of gross indecency
  • aggravated assault
  • stealing.

The male has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court on Tuesday 14 April 2020.
