Police make arrest - Property and criminal offences - Jingili

Northern Territory Police have arrested three men in relation to a serious incident the occurred in Jingili in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Serious Crime Detectives, with the assistance of the Dog Operations Unit, located the three individuals in Ludmilla yesterday. Two men, aged 18 and 22, were arrested at the scene, with the third man evading police.

Patrol Dog Wedge was deployed, apprehending the third male, aged 41.

The 23-year-old and the 18-year-old were each charged with:

  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Stealing

The 41-year-old was charged with:

  • Acts intended to cause serious harm
  • Recklessly endangering life
  • Aggravated assault
  • Drive in a manner dangerous during pursuit
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle - aggravated
  • Drive Unlicensed and
  • Stealing

All three men were remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "This is an excellent result for police who have worked tirelessly to locate these men.

"The behaviours of these individuals is concerning and police will do everything in their power to ensure community safety."
