Police make arrests - Scarborough sexual assault

Two men are facing 15 charges after a Sex Assault Squad investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Scarborough on Sunday, 14 March 2021.

It will be alleged the two men befriended a woman in her 20s during the evening before taking her to a disabled cubicle of the public toilet block on The Esplanade, where they sexually assaulted her. During their investigation, Sex Assault Squad detectives were also contacted by other women who were allegedly sexually assaulted by the same men.

A 36-year-old man from West Perth has been charged with:

• Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent;

• One count of Sexual Penetration without Consent; and

• One count of Aggravated Indecent Assault.

A 29-year-old man from South Perth has been charged with:

• Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent;

• Four counts of Sexual Penetration without Consent;

• One count of Deprivation of Liberty;

• One count of Aggravated Indecent Assault;

• Two counts of Unlawful and Indecent Assault; and

• One count of No Authority to Drive.

Both men are due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow, 12 August 2021.
