Police Make Arrests - Stolen Motor Vehicles In Darwin 21 April

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested 3 offenders in relation to multiple stolen vehicles across the Greater Darwin Region yesterday.

Around 2:20am, police began receiving reports of 6 stolen motor vehicles driving out of the Darwin region towards the Victoria Daly Region. Three of the vehicles were believed stolen from the Pinelands area.

An apprehension strategy was formulated by detectives from Strike Force Trident with assistance from Crime Units, Traffic Units, the Dog Operations Unit and General Duties.

Tyre Deflation Devices were successfully deployed in Adelaide River, deflating the tyres of 5 of the vehicles, with all occupants fleeing on foot. The sixth vehicle avoided apprehension and a short pursuit commenced, which was later terminated for safety reasons.

Throughout the remainder of Sunday, nine out of the ten suspects were identified with three males arrested, aged 15, 17 and 18.

Investigations into the thefts remain ongoing.

The youths allegedly then stole his white 2018 Toyota Corolla, before fleeing the scene.
