A northern suburbs man was arrested yesterday after allegedly placing a tracking device on a car.
About 9.15am on Tuesday 1 September, police were called to the northern suburbs after reports that a man was seen looking underneath a car belonging to a woman known to him.
The man then drove away from the scene.
Police examined the car and located a tracking device attached to the underside of the vehicle.
Further enquiries led officers to a nearby address where the 31-year-old man was arrested.
He was charged with install tracking device on vehicle without consent and stalking.
He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
As well as facing serious charges, the man was issued a Police Interim Intervention Order (PIIO), which provides further protection for the victim.
