Police officer detected drink driving 30 January

An off-duty police officer was allegedly detected drink driving in Ballarat Central on 20 January.

The male sergeant, from Western Region, was pulled over by patrolling police who saw a vehicle allegedly drive through a red light at the intersection of Sturt and Lydiard streets at 1.16am.

The 41-year-old man underwent an evidentiary breath test, returning an alleged reading of .115.

His licence was immediately suspended for 11 months and his vehicle was impounded.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other traffic-related offences.
