Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Maroondan

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a vehicle at Maroondan this morning, Thursday April 20.

Preliminary information indicates around 11am a red Honda XR650R motorbike was travelling west along Bundaberg Gin Gin Road near the intersection of Mevilles Road when a collision occurred with a 2008 silver Ford ranger dual cab utility travelling east.

The rider, a 21-year-old Avenell Heights man sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, an 81-year-old Horse Camp man was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
