Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Taroom 17 November

A 44-year-old Goondiwindi man has died following a two-vehicle traffic crash near Taroom this morning.

Preliminary investigations indicate around 9.10am a Nissan utility towing a caravan was travelling north along the Leichardt Highway towards Taroom.

A prime mover also travelling north, began overtaking the utility when the two vehicles collided and crashed off the roadway.

The driver and sole occupant of the utility was declared deceased at the scene.

The 39-year-old male driver of the prime mover was not seriously injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit from Roma is investigating the incident.
