Police Seek Info on E-scooter, Bike Crash in Hamilton

The Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for information following a collision between an e-scooter and a bicycle at Cameron Rocks Reserve, Hamilton, yesterday, May 7.

Initial information indicates around 3.35pm, the e-scooter was travelling inbound on Kingsford Smith Drive before entering the Lores Bonney Riverwalk and collided with the bike while travelling outbound on the riverwalk.

The bike rider, a 57-year-old Hendra man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment.

The rider of the e-scooter remained at the scene for a short time but left before emergency services arrived.

Investigators are appealing for the e-scooter rider or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward to assist with their enquiries.

The e-scooter rider is described as having a slim build, around 182cm tall, with an olive complexion.

They were seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, pants, and a full-face helmet with a rear-view mirror attached.

Investigations are ongoing.
