Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on the state's Far North Coast yesterday.
About 10.30am (Monday 26 September 2022), police were called to a Byrrill Creek Road, Byrrill Creek – about 25km south west of Murwillumbah – after reports a Subaru and a motorcycle had collided.
Officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District attended and located the motorcyclist – a 57-year-old man – with serious injuries.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital with leg and arm injuries. He remains there in a serious, but stable condition.
The driver of the Subaru – a 67-year-old woman – and the pillion passenger of the motorcycle – a 55-year-old woman – were also treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to Tweed Heads Hospital.
Police established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
Police would also like to speak with a woman who may have witnessed the crash before leaving the area prior to police arrival, and who may have information which could assist with investigations.
