Northern Territory Police are calling for information following an incident that occurred on Saturday morning.
At around 1:30am, a black Mazda CX7 was travelling inbound along McMillans Road, near Malak Crescent, when an unknown person threw an object at the passing vehicle.
The object struck the 25-year-old male passenger causing significant injuries, resulting in him needing to be treated at Royal Darwin Hospital.
Serious Crime detectives are investigating and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the offenders in this matter.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "The dangerous actions of the persons responsible for this incident could cause lifelong issues for the victim.
"These actions constitute serious criminal offences which could carry life imprisonment.
