Police seek information on Hit and Run - Leanyer

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a hit and run incident that occurred in Darwin yesterday.

At around 5:25pm, a silver or grey sedan was travelling in the direction of Casuarina when it struck a 5-year-old boy crossing a pedestrian crossing. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued driving.

Witnesses provided first aid before St John Ambulance arrived and transported the child to Royal Darwin Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

Police are appealing to the driver of the vehicle to come forward. Officer in Charge of Major Crash Investigation Unit Brendan Lindner said, "With assistance from the public, it really is only a matter of time until we identify your vehicle. If you were the driver involved, I urge you to do the right thing and notify police".
