Police seek witnesses after child approach at Blue Mountains

Police are appealing for information after a child was approached by a man in the Blue Mountains earlier this week.

About 8.10am on Monday 1 June 2020, an 8-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop on the way to school along Roberts Parade, Hawkesbury Heights, when she was approached by an unknown man.

Police have been told the man stopped his vehicle, got out and offered the girl a lift.

The girl immediately declined and boarded her school bus. She notified school staff later that morning.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s – early 40s, with dark curly hair and possibly a scar on his face.
