Police seek witnesses to a break-in and assault, SA

Elizabeth police are investigating an aggravated serious criminal trespass and aggravated assault that occurred at Elizabeth South yesterday, according to SA Police.

Just after 8am (Thursday 19 January) police were called to a house on Blake Road after reports of a man having broken into the house.

The occupants were threatened by a man who was allegedly armed with a screwdriver and demanded money and car keys. One of the occupants confronted the man who ran off empty handed.

A neighbour, who saw the suspect leaving the house, chased the man on foot before losing sight of him at the Elizabeth South Shopping Centre.

The suspect is described as being of Maori appearance, about 30-years-old, dark complexion, large build with black hair and wearing a thin grey zipper jacket and black shorts. He was last seen running towards Philip Highway at Elizabeth.

Police conducted an extensive search of the area with the assistance a police dog however did not locate the man.
