Police seek witnesses to Hoppers Crossing armed robbery

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Hoppers Crossing this month.

Investigators have been told a 52-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle at a service station on Old Geelong Road about 1am on 13 September.

An unknown man approached the car and opened the passenger side door and gestured for a lighter before producing a knife.

The offender stabbed the passenger side seat and gestured for the victim to hand over money.

The victim reversed his car out of the carpark, away from the offender who then walked away on Old Geelong Road.

He is perceived to be of Pacific Islander appearance with a medium build, 180cm tall with dark hair and facial hair.

He was wearing black pants, grey hooded top, white shirt, brown runners and a black beanie but took off his top and had a white Bulls singlet underneath.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
