Police seize weapons and drugs in Mildura

Detectives from Mildura Police have charged two people after firearms, ammunition, drugs and alleged stolen property were located at a property in Mildura.

Police executed a search warrant at a property in Sixteenth Street yesterday and located two firearms, a gel blaster, cartridge ammunition, quantities of methylamphetamine and cannabis, and allegedly stolen property.

A man and a woman were arrested at the scene.

A 22-year-old Mildura man has been charged with possess trafficable quantity of firearms, prohibited person possess firearm, prohibited person possess imitation firearm, possess cartridge ammunition, fail to store firearm correctly, possess ammunition without a licence, fail to stop a motor vehicle on police direction and unlicensed driving.

A 29-year-old Mildura woman has been charged with possess trafficable quantity of firearms, prohibited person possess firearm, prohibited person possess imitation firearm, possess cartridge ammunition, fail to store firearm correctly, possess ammunition without a licence, possess methylamphetamine, possess cannabis, possess prescription medication without authorisation and failure to comply with a lawful direction.

Both were remanded to appear before Mildura Magistrates' Court today.
