Police update 1: Serious traffic crash, Canina

A 14-year-old boy has died following a serious traffic crash at Canina earlier this week.

Around 3.45pm on Wednesday, February 1, the boy was crossing Tin Can Bay Road when he was struck by a Hyundai I30.

The teenage boy suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to the Queensland Children's Hospital, South Brisbane in a critical condition.

The boy has since passed away due to his injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing and those who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam/CCTV vision are urged to contact police.
