Police update: Search operation, Lake Tinaroo

Police have located the body of a 49-year-old man reported missing in Lake Tinaroo.

Shortly before 3.30pm officers located the body within the search area.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner, however there are not considered to be any suspicious circumstances.

EARLIER:

A search operation has recommenced at Lake Tinaroo in the Tablelands this morning, for a 49-year-old man who went missing while swimming yesterday (February 12).

Emergency services were called to Church Street just after 11am to reports a man had gone missing in the lake.

Initial information indicates the man was assisting two children return to shore when he has failed to resurface.

The children were assessed by paramedics on scene, and were not physically injured.

Support services have been offered to the family of the man.
