Government of Canada fueling local community revitalization and creating the conditions for the economy of the future

Canadian cities and towns flourish when they have community public spaces to promote social interaction and physical activity, and provide access to recreational programs and facilities. Having access to vibrant, interactive spaces is important for health and wellbeing in every corner of our country. Breathing new life into our communities also stimulates local economies, creates jobs, and improves the quality of life for Canadians.

Today, Darrell Samson, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minster of Veterans Affairs, Associate Minister of National Defence and Member of Parliament for Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook, announced an investment of $30,000 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to the Porters Lake Community Service Association. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

This support will allow the Association to resurface the tennis courts at the Porters Lake Community Centre with a new asphalt base for use as both a tennis and a pickleball court. These upgrades will provide the community with an accessible outdoor facility that is open to all ages, strengthening the Centre's role as a community hub for sports and social activity.
