Post-Implementation Review of Animals Regulation 2015

The VMD has launched a questionnaire to obtain views from users and stakeholders on the Animals and Animal Products Regulations of 2015 (AAPR).

Post-implementation reviews (PIR) are part of normal legislative lifecycle. The purpose is to determine whether the legislation has met, and continues to meet, it's intended objectives. We will use the information received to inform future policy.

We are seeking opinions from anyone who has an interest in the legislation, in particular, those who are direct users of it.

The AAPR is an important piece of legislation which enables the sampling of products of animal origin to test for residues of prohibited substances, veterinary medicines, and contaminants. This programme of work not only provides assurances about GB foodstuffs to domestic consumers, but also to international trading partners.

The questionnaire can be accessed through Citizen Space. The closing date for responses is 5 July 2023.
