For generations, local families have trusted our council-run preschools to give their children the very best start in life. As we celebrate 50 years of caring and learning, I'm proud to announce that preschool enrolments are now open for 2027 at our Fairfield City Best Start Education & Care services.
Our preschools are built around what matters most to families – flexibility, quality, and genuine support. We know that every family's needs are different, and that's why we offer longer hours, so you can balance work and family with ease. Our preschool services are also open during school holidays, and you can enrol your child up to 3 days a week, every week of the year. Children can start preschool from 2.5 years if their birthday is before 31 July, not just in the year before school. This means siblings can attend together, and you can plan your family's schedule with confidence. To make things even easier, we offer two free days of preschool at our services, making quality care more accessible for every family.
One of the things that makes me most proud is our team of dedicated, bicultural educators. Our staff are fluent in Arabic, Assyrian, Chinese, and Vietnamese, ensuring that every child and family feels welcome, understood, and supported from day one. Many of our centres are rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard, so you can be confident your child is in safe, caring hands, surrounded by qualified educators who are passionate about early learning.
