What is the research focus of your group?

"Our research group REACH focuses on developing and evaluating digital lifestyle interventions with a particular interest in people living with neurological diseases or injuries," says David Moulaee Conradsson , docent at the Division of Physiotherapy, NVS. "To develop interventions that make a difference, we work with co-creation methods where patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals actively participate. We conduct both feasibility studies and effectiveness evaluations to ensure that the interventions are practical and effective."

"An important part of our work is cross-sector collaboration - for example, between academia, healthcare, and industry. Through close collaborations with patients and other stakeholders, we strive to develop digital services that are relevant, accessible, and meaningful in people's daily lives."

What is the goal of your research?

"The goal of our research is to create conditions for equitable health through digital interventions - with a particular focus on enabling lifestyle changes, such as support for physical activity and exercise. We strive to be a progressive force in the digitalization of physiotherapy and other areas within health sciences. Our goal is also to contribute to the education on digital working methods in physiotherapy and to strengthen the readiness of future physiotherapists to work digitally."

Who is in your research group?

"We are a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, physics, and psychology. This diversity is important for our focus on digital treatments - both to understand the different conditions of various patient groups to use digital aids and to manage the large amounts of data generated by the studies."

What are you most looking forward to as a research group leader?

"I look forward to, together with my group, developing, exploring, and following the digitalization within healthcare. Right now, there is a rapid development that has the potential to revolutionize the effectiveness of care for patients - and it will be exciting to contribute to translating technical solutions into concrete patient benefits."

"It is also inspiring to, through the research group, develop a platform and learning environment that contributes both to the group's own development and to supporting younger colleagues nationally and internationally. My own research education at Karolinska Institutet and experiences from international research environments during, for example, my postdoc have been of great importance to me personally - and I hope, with great humility, to now have the opportunity to give back."
