Protecting Seniors With Dementia From Financial Fraud

McGill University

Fraud is now the leading crime committed against seniors in Canada, and individuals with cognitive decline are particularly at risk. On June 11, McGill University's Dementia Education Program will host a webcast to raise awareness about how to prevent people living with dementia from becoming victims of financial fraud.

The McGill Cares webcast will highlight common scams, warning signs and suggest practical steps families and caregivers can take to help protect their loved ones' financial well-being.

The session will be hosted by Claire Webster, founder of McGill's Dementia Education Program and Certified Dementia Care Consultant. She will be joined by Kimberley Colquhoun, Assistant Director of Public Safety for the City of Westmount.

This free webcast will be available in English.
