A man has been charged after a Maserati was stolen during a break-in and allegedly driven dangerously through Toowoomba this morning.
It will be alleged at around 1.50am a group of people broke into a residence in Mount Lofty and took the keys to a Maserati before fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle.
At around 6am information was received that the car was travelling westbound on the Warrego Highway towards Toowoomba.
The vehicle was witnessed turning into Flagstone Creek Road where police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device before commencing a pursuit.
The Maserati failed to negotiate a roundabout at Tourist Road and Long Streets in East Toowoomba before hitting a street sign.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle allegedly fled on foot however was arrested by police a short distance away. No one sustained injury.
A 28-year-old Crows Nest man has been charged with three counts of trespass and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess dangerous drugs, evasion, stealing, driving unlicensed, obstruct police, possession of a knife in a public place, burglary and receive tainted property.
He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today (July 15).
Police are also appealing for anyone who knows of the whereabouts of a white 2020 Land Rover Discovery (pictured) recently stolen from Kearney Spring to call Triple Zero (000).
