Quay Street stays open for pavement works

Road-construction.jpg

From tomorrow, Council will be carrying out works on Quay Street as part of a trial to rectify cracked pavers in two sections.

The trial will include a section between Fitzroy and William Street and a section between Denham and William Street where pavers will be removed and relayed in a different configuration.

The works, will be managed to keep Quay Street open at all times. The first lot of works will be on the river side of Quay Street and once that side has reopened the work will move to the other side of the road.

Each test site will take approximately six weeks, allowing for the new pavers to cure before being re-opened. Two to four car parks will be temporarily lost during works at each section.
