Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training The Honourable Ros Bates
  • Queensland is open for business after the State's largest ever International Education, Training, Research and Innovation delegation strengthened global partnerships.
  • The Crisafulli Government delivered three major agreements signed with Japanese industry and research leaders.
  • Global exposure at World Expo 2025 is part of the Crisafulli Government's plan to help re-establish Queensland as a premier destination for jobs, investment and innovation.
  • The Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a fresh start for Queensland.

The Crisafulli Government's support for World Expo 2025 in Osaka has strengthened Queensland's global reputation as the place to invest, helping deliver new trade, research and technology opportunities for Queenslanders.

Trade and Investment Queensland hosted more than 1,400 businesses and government leaders during Expo, converting international interest into outcomes that will support jobs and economic growth across our state, helping secure three agreements, with the support of the Crisafulli Government:

  • Queensland company Stralis Aircraft joined with Akita University to test hydrogen-electric propulsion systems, supporting high-skill manufacturing and economically viable clean-energy jobs in Queensland.
  • Serendix Inc. and Planum Partners will bring 3D printed housing technology to Queensland, enabling more affordable homes in regional communities.
  • Sharp Corporation partnered with Energy Storage Industries – Asia Pacific and the University of Queensland to co-develop battery technology advancing long-term energy storage.

These renewed partnerships help rebuild Queensland's long-standing ties with Japan ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and elevate Queensland's presence across the globe through the 'QueensLand of Opportunity' global business brand.

World Expo 2025 in Osaka drew 2.8 million visitors to the Australia Pavilion and more than 25 million overall, offering an unmatched platform to promote Queensland's capability across tourism, energy, research, and advanced manufacturing.

After years of Labor neglect, missed opportunities, and international disengagement, the Crisafulli Government is restoring Queensland's reputation on the global stage.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training, Ros Bates, said the Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.

"Throughout Labor's decade of decline, exports were transactional, relationships were treated as an afterthought, Queensland's export potential sat idle, and investment opportunities were missed," Minister Bates said.

"By contrast, under the Crisafulli Government, Queensland is open for business and is back on the world map as a premier location for trade and innovation.

"World Expo 2025 delivered results – new partnerships, new investment and new opportunities for Queenslanders.

""From 3D-printed housing to next-generation battery and hydrogen aircraft technologies, we're leading the world in ideas creating jobs and build our future.

"This is what a fresh start for Queensland looks like, a government that delivers outcomes."
