Recovery centre changes to appointment-only

MidCoast Council

The MidCoast Flood Recovery Centre has been operating since the height of the March floods and will continue to support the community but with some changes to operations.

From 28 June, the centre, located in the former MidCoast Council Chambers in Pulteney Street, Taree, will change to appointment only.

“We will continue to have staff on hand to support our community and we know that there is still a long way to go with this recovery, however we’re moving to an appointment only approach as Resilience NSW staff and other agencies finish their time in the centre,” explained MidCoast Council’s Director of Liveable Communities, Paul De Szell.

“Anyone needing support and advice can phone Service NSW on 13 77 88 or our flood recovery hotline on 1300 545 040 and our staff can talk them through what they need over the phone or book an appointment to see them in person.”

Council’s recovery team has been on site, along with representatives from various NSW Government agencies to support members of the community dealing with the fallout from the record breaking flooding, since 28 March.

Staff remain available to provide information and access to everything from mental health and wellbeing services through to document replacements, business support, financial assistance and more.

Alternatively, further information is also available on the Flood Recovery Hub on Council’s website
