Reducing bushfire risks in Ellenbrook and Aveley

FDI sign no restriction sign

The City of Swan has commenced work to reduce the threat of bushfires on Crown land in Ellenbrook and Aveley thanks to a $56,500 State Government grant.
The funding will go towards work to increase separation between heavily vegetated public land and housing, and will be completed in time for bushfire season.
The State Government Bushfire Mitigation Activity grants assist local governments to reduce bushfire risk on Crown Land under their management.
The grant supplements the City's extensive annual fire mitigation program, which protects our community through addressing bushfire risks.
Last year's grant of $63,000 was used to burn verges in remote areas of Gidgegannup to provide safer egress for residents. It also provided environmental benefits by targeting degraded vegetation in need of rejuvenation.
