The Centre County COVID-19 Cohort Study is a collaborative effort between Penn State Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, Penn State Social Science Research Institute, and Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute to study the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Centre County region. This unique collaboration is exploring the biological, social and cultural effects of the pandemic and mitigation efforts. Since summer 2020, this project has enrolled more than 2,000 Centre County residents and Penn State University Park students.

Through longitudinal surveys and bio-specimen analyses, the study team is quantifying the effects of the pandemic on both the Centre County resident and Penn State student populations. Ferrari will discuss the ongoing project, the early insights on the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in these two populations, and the opportunities to use this project as a foundation for future research.

The institute's Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design group offers these seminars. This group provides consultations to the Penn State community in study design, data management and analysis.

Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute provides tools, services and training to make health research more efficient and to encourage collaboration at the University. To request a consultation, complete a service request form.
