Richmond Market Wins 2025 Community Initiative Award

Yarra City Council

Located in the Richmond public housing estate, it offers affordable, culturally inclusive food and supports wellbeing, especially for older and diverse residents. With weekly attendance over 100, it reduces isolation and builds community.

Since February this year, the market has served over 1,370 customers and distributed 4,700kg of fresh produce. Events like Cultural Diversity Week and over 250 volunteer hours highlight the role of this important initiative in promoting dignity, connection, and resilience through food.
