Sex Assault Squad detectives have charged a 37-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a reported incident that occurred on Sunday, 28 February 2021.
Around 1.15am, a woman in her 20s ordered a ride-share vehicle and was collected from a location in Mandurah. It is alleged during the journey the driver sexually assaulted the woman.
The 37-year-old man from Mandurah has been charged with:
• One count of Unlawful and Indecent Assault; and
• One count of Sexual Penetration without Consent.
He is due to appear before the Fremantle Magistrates Court today, 9 March 2021.
Police have notified the relevant ride-share companies and the Department of Transport of the arrest.
