Rockhampton Regional Council is set to improve drainage and amenity in Park Avenue with a road rehabilitation project commencing next week along Haynes Street (from Park to Main Street) followed by Main Street (from Haynes to Edgar Street).
Delivered as part of Council's Capital Works Program, the project will include stormwater upgrades, kerb and channel replacement, footpath replacement, water main replacement, pedestrian crossing upgrade, asphalt overlay and line marking.
Works are scheduled to begin on Sunday, 21 September 2025 and are expected to be completed by March 2026, subject to weather and ground conditions.
The project will be delivered in stages, with temporary speed reductions, road closures, detours and traffic control measures in place.
Construction will take place both during the day and at night, with full road closures at certain times.
Council requests that drivers exercise caution during these works, obeying all signage.
