Road train driver charged near Moree, NSW

Police have charged a road train driver with special range PCA yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9:30pm, Monday 22 August 2016, Barwon Traffic & Highway Patrol Command detected a Queensland registered road train allegedly exceeding the speed limit on the Newell Highway, Gurley, about 25km south of Moree.

Police stopped and spoke with the driver, a 47 year-old-man, who provided a positive roadside breath test.

The driver was arrested and conveyed to Moree Police Station where he underwent a Breath Analysis which returned a reading of 0.040.

The driver was issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for Special Range PCA to appear before Moree Local Court on Monday 26 September 2016. The driver was also issued with a traffic infringement notice for Road Train exceeds 90km/h.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist police to call Crime Stopers.
