- Chichester Park upgrades completed to support Woodvale families
- New beginner-level skate park, upgraded play space, and renewed basketball and netball pad now open to the community
- Delivered with an $800,000 Cook Labor Government election commitment
Woodvale families have more ways to enjoy the outdoors, with new and upgraded recreation facilities now complete at Chichester Park.
Supported by an $800,000 Cook Labor Government election commitment, the upgrades have revitalised the popular local park, providing more opportunities for children and young people to get active and families to spend time together.
A new beginner-level skate park provides a place for young skaters to build their confidence, alongside an upgraded play space with modern equipment, softfall, and shade sails.
The existing basketball and netball pad has also been upgraded, giving locals an improved space to practise their skills or enjoy a game with friends.
New picnic shelters, seating, landscaping, and park furniture complement the recreation facilities, making Chichester Park a welcoming place for families to gather and spend time outdoors.
The works are part of the Cook Labor Government's PlayOn WA initiative, which is investing in community sport and recreation infrastructure across Western Australia.
PlayOn WA will deliver 2,030 infrastructure items by 2030, ensuring long-term benefits for communities across the State.
As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:
"These improved facilities at Chichester Park will make a big difference to local families providing a welcoming space to stay active and spend time together.
"It's great to see another election commitment delivered for our northern suburbs as we continue to rollout quality sport and recreation infrastructure for communities across WA."
As stated by Kingsley MLA Jessica Stojkovski:
"Chichester Park is a much-loved part of Woodvale, and it's wonderful to see these new and improved facilities ready for local families to enjoy.
"The beginner skate park and upgraded play and court spaces offer something for a range of ages, while the extra shade, seating and picnic facilities make the park a more welcoming place to spend time.
"I'm proud we've delivered on this commitment to our community, creating a place that local children and families can enjoy for years to come."
