Robbery with violence at Chandler, QLD

Police are investigating the armed robbery and assault of a traffic control worker at Chandler overnight, Queensland Police say.

A man was controlling traffic at a worksite on Mount Gravatt – Capalaba Road at 11.25pm when he flagged down a car that was speeding.

The occupants of the car then stopped and the driver got out and repeatedly assaulted the controller with a traffic control sign and a lighting baton.

A second man then drove the car down the road a short distance before also the man.

The men then stole the man’s wallet and phone before fleeing the scene in the car.

The 50-year-old man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of lacerations and bruising to his face.

The men were last seen driving a white 2002 Ford Falcon sedan.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dash cam or witnessed anything to contact them.
