Robinvale library concept designs revealed

The Robinvale community will get its first glimpse of concept designs for the new Robinvale Community Hub Library in August.

Concepts will be available to view at an information session on Thursday, 15 August from 3pm until 5.30pm.

The new library is a joint project of Regional Development Victoria, the Victorian Education Department, Robinvale College and Swan Hill Rural City Council.

To be built inside an existing building at the front of the Robinvale College grounds, it will be a permanent community library, replacing weekly mobile library visits to Robinvale. It will include community meeting spaces, computers for public access, wifi and internet access, and spaces for study and quiet reading.

Council's Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said everyone involved in the design phase had worked hard to ensure that the needs of both the College students and the wider community would be met.

"We had 146 community members respond to a survey late in 2018, giving us great insights into how the community would like to use the library, what services they would like to access and during what hours," Ms Cullinan said.

"These answers have been used to help design the repurposed library building, and are helping Council and the College decide on details like opening hours, staffing, event programming and available library services."
