Robot Mayhem Hits Silver Screen For Free Movie Night

The night sky won't be the only thing that's star-studded when Riverway Movie Nights presents an open-air screening of Ron's Gone Wrong this Friday.

The feature-length animated movie is led by Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, The Office alumnus Ed Helms and It star Jack Dylan Grazer.

Townsville locals and visitors will be able to enjoy the science fiction comedy for free from 6pm at Riverway Oval on Friday, which will include a variety of food trucks on site.

Deputy Mayor and divisional councillor Suzy Batkovic said Riverway Movie Nights were the perfect activity for the whole family.

"Ron's Gone Wrong is a great little film about a young boy's journey with his walking, talking robot buddy – it's perfect for kids and even has a few laughs for the parents in attendance," Cr Batkovic said.

"With the weather cooling down this is the best time of year to get around Council's free family events and make the most of being outdoors. This is a great opportunity for parents who want to get their kids' wriggles out before settling in for a family movie night.

"Pack a blanket and some snacks, or grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks that we have on site for this screening."
