Sale child abuse material arrest

Detectives from the Sale Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team have arrested a man as part of an investigation into the possession of child abuse material.

A warrant was executed at a property in Sale this morning and a 78-year-old man was arrested.

Police seized numerous electronic devices and allegedly found electronically stored child abuse material.

The 78-year-old was interviewed and charged with possess child abuse material and will appear at Sale Magistrates' Court on 23 March 2021.

Offences for the possession, distribution and access of child abuse carry penalties of up to 10 years imprisonment in Victoria.
