The Stolen Gem rooftop bar, situated in the heart of the CBD, is giving Melburnians a reason to go out this winter. To celebrate the end of Winter, guests who order one of their 'Rum Toddy' or 'Sub Zero' cocktails will be gifted a cosy (and very plush) teal robe to keep them warm as they sit back and admire the city skyline. The team behind The Stolen Gem refer to this as their 'Winter Warmer' special, encouraging more city-goers to be comfortable in the colder weather and not allow it to dishearten them from having a memorable night out. With such a creative incentive, it won't be long before the rooftop bar, and streets of Melbourne are covered in a sea of blue.
These new-addition cocktails are priced at $30 each, including a premium robe that guests will get to keep as a token of their visit. The cocktails have been developed keeping Winter in mind, with the 'Sub Zero' even matching perfectly to the hue of the robe. However, as this special is exclusive to the Winter months, only limited robes with be available until the end of August. The 'Rum Toddy' utilises the warmth of Appleton Estate's 8 Year Old Reserve, paired with Le Birlou Chestnut Apple Liqueur, Lemon and Agave Nectar. The concoction is poured into a Destalya (a traditional Turkish coffee pot) and then flambéed with a blowtorch, creating a cocktail that warms you from the inside out. The sweeter alternative, 'Sub Zero' draws on the iciness that is a true Melbourne winter, featuring Bombay Sunset Gin, Aubrey Mango Liqueur, Blue Curacao, Lime, and Vanilla Bean Syrup to create a vibrant blue delight that captures the azure tones of the robe perfectly. The robes are limited to one per person; however, the cocktails can be purchased again separately if guests can't get enough of them.
