Search operation at Ipswich

Police are searching for a man who has entered a river at North Ipswich early this morning.

The man was seen entering the Bremer River, near David Trumpy Bridge, just after 5.30am. A passer-by raised the alarm after he failed to surface.

A land, water and air search is now underway to locate the man.

The man is described as African in appearance, around 175cm tall and of a thin build.

Anyone with information that could locate the man are encouraged to contact police immediately.
