Senior Community Constable wins NAIDOC award

SA Police are pleased to share that Senior Community Constable Shirreen Jackson has been announced as the Female Elder of the Year in the Port Augusta NAIDOC Awards for 2023.

This award is given to individual or individuals who contributes to the community and serves as an asset as an outstanding female elder contributing to the positive outcomes for the community.

Shireen was nominated by the Port Augusta Community for her work within the community as a Community Constable and her efforts over many years working with the youth in Port Augusta.

Shireen has worked as a Senior Community Constable for 10 years and is currently based at Port Augusta Police Station in the state's Far North.

Shirreen acknowledged her role in the community as being a supportive and positive role model to the community and being available to everybody whilst advocating for youth and the environment.

All of South Australia Police acknowledge and congratulate Shirreen on her award, and her commitment to building strong networks and relationships with the Aboriginal Communities in South Australia.

Shirreen upon receiving the award thanked the community for nominating her and recognising the work she puts into the community and wanted to wish everyone a happy NAIDOC week for 2023.
